Anonymous Report

US forces moving into Southern Iraq have been detaining large numbers of Iraqi citizens protesting peacefully against the reoccupation. Protests have been dispersed by force of arms, and many protesters have been beaten and 23 have been shot.
An entire quarter in Basra is in flames due to a violent US pacification strategy, supported by the Iraqi executive.
In response to these events, the Mahdi Army and other insurgent groups have resumed the fight against the US, attacking US troops and interests all over the country.
